Role-Based Access Control
WorkMA uses a granular permission system. Each user has a role that determines what they can see and do.
| Role | Can Do | Cannot Do |
|---|---|---|
| Administrator | Full access to everything, manage billing, invite/remove members | — |
| Team Lead | Create/edit all tasks, approve tasks, manage teams, view reports | Manage billing |
| Project Manager | Edit all tasks, approve tasks, view reports, manage categories | Create teams, manage billing |
| Developer | Create/edit own tasks, use Nexus IDE, change task status | View reports, approve tasks |
| Designer | Create/edit own tasks, upload attachments, change task status | View reports, approve tasks |
| QA Engineer | Create/edit own tasks, approve tasks, view reports | Manage teams |
Tenant Admin
Any role can also be flagged as a Tenant Admin by a platform administrator. Tenant admins have full control over their workspace including billing and member management.
Customizing Permissions
Platform administrators can fine-tune permissions per role in the Admin → Role Permissions section. This allows you to create custom permission sets (e.g., a developer who can also view billing).
